Deepening our understanding of which policy advice to expect from prioritizing SDG targets: introducing the Analytic Network Process in a multi-method setting

Abstract The indivisibility principle of the 2030 Agenda is considered key for implementation policies in pursuit Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Therefore, science not only asked to develop new methods assessing SDG target interactions but also translate findings methodological insights into policy advice easy take-up by policymakers. present paper demonstrates how adopt multi-criteria analysis technique Analytic Network Process (ANP) prioritizing targets considering all positive and possible indirect at once. application ANP linked a multi-method setting embracing scores derived from analytical Nilsson-scale, cross-impact matrix, network techniques. This supports prioritization when n -order neighbours with respect their synergies. allows evaluating synergistic potential progress controllability rankings calculated CI-matrix metrics thus provides conclusions on importance final ranking.
